Study of WaveScan-guided
LASIK for the treatment of presbyopic patients
using monovision
This study involves wavefront-guided LASIK treatment
for presbyopic patients using monovision. Monovision
is at treatment technique for people age 40 and
over who are affected by presbyopia and involves
the use of one eye for distance and one eye for
near vision. With monovision, both are corrected
with the hope of achieving a blend of near and
distance vision. Wavefront-guided LASIK treatment
for low to moderate myopia has been approved by
FDA. Subjects who qualify for and elect to participate
in this study will receive wavefront-guided LASIK
treatment in one or two eyes, and one eye will
be corrected for distance vision and the other
eye will be corrected for near to intermediate
vision. Subjects participating in this study will
be treated for free.
Study of wave-front
guided LASIK for high myopia (nearsightedness)
with or without astigmatism
This study involves using the VISX WaveScan WaveFront
System to measure the visual errors of the eyes
and using these measurements to guide the VISX
STAR S4 Excimer Laser during LASIK treatment for
either high amounts of nearsightedness (myopia)
with or without astigmatism. This procedure has
recently been approved by the FDA for the treatment
of low to moderate degrees of myopia (nearsightedness),
but is currently under investigation for high
myopia (nearsightedness) with or without astigmatism.
Subjects who qualify for and elect to participate
in this study will receive LASIK treatment for
their myopia with or without astigmatism based
on the results of a thorough eye examination and
wavefront measurements. Subjects participating
in this study will receive a reduced charge for
the
We have just closed enrollment on two
